A River Runs Through It was expertly done. Like Zafron, author Maclean was adamant that it shouldn't be manipulated and Redford had quite a job of convincing him, with Maclean holding a veto card right to the last minute.

McCarthy's The Road is the saddest book I ever read and the movie did a very good job.

As for The Shining, I don't which scared me more but both are masterful.
