An interesting view. The big difference and therefore making it impossible to compare eastern European countries to the US and Canada on the level, is that each European nation has a distinct ethnic identity, culture and history. North America is a land of immigrants. All those European countries have been fighting to claim, and protect their individual identity forever. Hungary only seems to be vocal about doing so, and adamant not to concede their Christian based national identity to appease either side. They no more want Russian alliance and identity than they do a blanket EU community.
