We scheduled a voluntary partial hysterectomy. When I came out of surgery, my doctor apologized for my experience. He acknowledged that had I not elected to have this surgery, I would have been admitted in an emergency situation, and relatively soon. The damage from the fibroids was great. They were hidden within the walls of the organ where they were gnawing their way out. My uterus was torn to shreds.
