Hi, JP. Because you asked for feeback, I've left a few notes. (I am editor for several publications so when a reader asks for feedback, I read twice. Once as a reader, then again as an editor.)

The whole story is creepy--twilight zone-ish. The reader is never clear what was seen, or what has happened and is happening, only that Kate doesn't seem to anchored.

Great job with the mood and communicating the confusion.
