I even ventured to make Siberian crab apple jelly — do you know how puny the outcome is after hours spent on cleaning, cutting, boiling the tiny apples, then leaving them to strain in cheesecloth, and finally boiling the juice with sugar — the juice, well, five spoonsful from half a kilo of apples … I am just going to enjoy the decorative fruit on the tree next year.
