I might have to write about my experience with this

The Blair Witch Project (1999). The first of the “found footage” genre, it’s hard to explain today the hype that grew up around this one when it was first released. The guerrilla marketing campaign took full advantage of the still-new internet to imply that this was a true story with actual footage, and the public ate it up. My experience was mixed; the first time I watched it (on video) I fell asleep ten minutes in, but the second attempt kept me awake for the entire night. It still spooks me to this day.
