If the artists are not involved in the scandal, then maybe they should take the opportunity to breakaway, start a new label and rebrand themselves. If the scandal is that bad, then they are already stained by association, and wash their hands of the relationship.

For other artists, such as actors, it depends. If it was only offensive language...it's up to the listener to be offended or not, if it's a heinous crime, ie. child abuse, domestic violence, etc, then those artists have to be held accountable like everyone else. They had the spotlight and dreams come true and they blew it.
