it's ridiculous. I recently sent a piece in to a lit mag and below it had a box to check if the story contains sensitive content. Well, someone died in that story and by suicide, though it was only referred to and not described. I did not check the box.

A few days later I received a note, the story was accepted but suggested I should add a content warning.

I said, "no, remove the story if you wish. Who am I to decide what a reader may or may not be sensitive to? And that's why it's called a story...you're not supposed to know what happens until you read it. A content warning kills the story. I am sensitive to that."

This fekking world today.
