Mild Epiphanies & Random Revelations #11
When marriage means you are ONE
Revelation
A husband and wife must inhabit more than just the same house, they must also share one mind.
My daughter’s hockey team has an away game tomorrow. Far away. So it’s a team bus and fun and mayhem for the girls, madness and headaches for the parents.
My wife walked in from work and saw me busy in the kitchen. I’m making gluten free pumpkin muffins and full gluten apple strudel for the excursion-it’s a bit of an afternoon in the kitchen.
“Oh good! You’re in the kitchen,” my wife announced with glee. “It’s Friday baby, I survived. I was thinking you could make me something delicious! Something, warm, yummy and rich.”
“Ahhh..fancy hot chocolate?” I offered.
“I was thinking more like a London Fog. IF you can make it like Tim Horton’s!”
She knows I’m busy, she knows I don’t really want to do it. But she also knows that her tiny challenge with the two letter word “IF” isn’t going to get the best of me. I make the London Fog.
Epiphany.
Wives are devious creatures.
“Mmm!” she exclaimed, licking her lips. “I’ll never buy another London Fog at Tim Horton’s again. That’s delicious! See? That’s why I bought that big box of Earl Grey at Costco. So I can make London Fog’s at home.”
“You mean so I can make your London Fog’s at home.” I corrected.
“Same thing, sweetie. It’s the same thing.” She corrected.
