Children are the most honest critics you’ll ever have
Revelation
The clock spins twice as fast on weekends as weekdays.
Friday: It was busy hockey weekend for the Nagy clan. Friday night my daughter attended an all boy’s team practice. She was one of three girls invited to step up and step in with bigger, stronger, and faster boys. She held her own with them and then some. Speaking to the coach afterward, he commented that he would love to have her affiliate, meaning that in a roster shortage, she could be called upon to join the team. I was proud, she was thrilled and all the way home told me how she loved playing with the boys. Afterwards, I set to making pastry and muffins for Saturday’s road trip away game.
Saturday: I took a seat on the team bus with the girls for an away game. Most of the parents were smarter than me, and chose to drive up rather than sit amongst the group of singing, screaming, giddy, noisy girls for the next 3 hours. It was a long ride. The game was a draw, my girl played very well and scored a goal. After arriving back in town, we somehow ended up with one of the girls straggling along to our home for a sleepover with my daughter.
