Revelation-An open door is an invitation

This morning I settled in at my desk in my writing room. As I often do, I select a playlist from Spotify that lends itself to setting the mood for writing a specific piece.

I was preparing to write a piece steeped in Gaelic lore and so I selected a Gaelic playlist to help create an appropriate atmosphere of creative flow.

My daughter was still in the midst of preparing for school and her mother was at her side fussing and fixing clothes and hair as a mother will do.

Upon hearing the music playing with it’s flutes and harps and such, my wife stepped into my workspace and made a declaration.

“Mmkay, that’s a little much for first thing in the morning”

Epiphany-The teenage boy, still alive, is triggered by the unwelcome invasion of his private space.

“It’s MY ROOM!” I snapped back. “Leave me alone and please close the door.”

From the bathroom my daughter pipes up, laughing.
