Missus-“Sweetie! This isn’t working!”

Me- “Are you putting it in the hole?”

Missus- “I’m try — ying but it keeps slipping!”

Me- “You have to squeeze it.”

Missus- “OMG! We’ve been doing it for a week straight, you think I don’t know how to do it?”

Me- “It works when I do it. Do you want me to do it?”

Missus- “No. I can do it. But I have small hands, I can’t grip all the way around and squeeze. Plus, it’s a very small hole.”

Photo by Author. I took the tap apart a week ago to fix a leak. The seals are gone and the cartridge is shot. The budget hasn’t yet allowed for a replacement.
