Mild Epiphanies & Random Revelations #21
Will Smith worked into Wordle
Revelation: Kids are quick and don’t miss anything.
Our nightly family wordle game is competitive and cutthroat.
My daughter usually comes out the winner as she consistently solves the puzzle before my wife and I make it to the second line.
Then it’s between the Missus and me. In this head-to-head battle, I will usually win by speed but not always by line.
Meanwhile, my wife has patience and persistence unmatched. She will painstakingly work through every possible combination to solve the puzzle by the second or third line — even if it takes a half-hour.
During this time, I do everything I can to distract her. I scroll Instagram Reels and FB posts, play music, turn up the volume on the hockey game, and get into conversations with my daughter. It drives her crazy.
Epiphany: Delivering the knockout in defense of Mom.
As per usual, my wife solved the puzzle in a slot ahead of mine and declared her victory. I protested that a reasonable time limit was exceeded and poked fun at her extended period of play.
My daughter would have none of it, and, from her chair in the corner, she voiced her support for Mom.
“Keep my Mama’s name out-ch yo mouth!”
It was a double win for the ladies.
