Revelation

I’ve been feeling really good about my writing lately. With over a dozen submissions to magazines, submission calls and contests, I feel hopeful.

For supper tonight I made braised pork in a mango-pineapple curry sauce-not my wife or daughter’s favorite flavors. I told the girls that they should prepare their taste buds for the forthcoming world travel arising from my success, fame and the fortune that follow.

Sitting at the table we manifested our global treks. First stop, Japan. Once we filled our boots with the magnificence of that metropolis we would quiet down and head to Peru. From there my daughter and I would travel to New Zealand for fly fishing, then a jaunt to Australia to visit a handful of friends.

During this time my wife declared that she and her bestie would be pleased to find themselves on a yacht, where in accord to their high standards, they would be served by a crew of handsome sailor boys. “Champagne, foie gras and cremé bruleé!” she exclaimed.

Epiphany

Seeing the pride and excitement in my daughter’s eyes as she listened, imagined, and joined in. Then her asking, “Dad, when did you discover your passion?”
