Mindfulness. What was I thinking?

Yesterday while busy with chores my mind wandered into story brainstorming mode. Thinking of nothing in particular, a fiction plot started to form. I was getting excited at the prospect of having a smashing short story flying off my fingertips just as soon as I could sit down.

Then I forgot. I forgot everything. Not even the tail of cloud of the dreamy story remained. I should have written it into my iPhone notes immediately like I usually do. But I was moving around and the story was still forming. Then “poof!” gone. I can only assume the story went back to where it came from in the first place. That mysterious realm of imagination.

The irritating thing is that I had just read an article on the importance of writing everything down as soon as it comes into your head.

I should have written that down.
