Oh the boat trailer tire bearings went in the rim. I was more than halfway up the mountain road to the lake when I saw the trailer tire beginning to smoke. I got to the lake it was glowing red, completely melted out. I had to leave the trailer and boat at the lake (but I did fish all day) then came back a week later, the boat swamped and mostly sunk, the trailer with a ticket and a haul away notice. It was not an easy fix. 1975 trailer needed new rim-couldn't find, bought a new axle, didn't quite fit the frame. It was a real McGyver effort to repair and haul home.

Same angels. I could have blown out on the highway at any time.
