Next, until the part of police intervention/altercation, I didn't read any of it where race factored in.

Finally, to me, the most heartbreaking is that you can't force people to get help, or more accurately, you won't be able to help anyone that isn't seeking or accepting they need help.

And, I don't know how therapists, counselors, and the like deal with this as a day in, day out job. That takes a massive amount of heart. God Bless you for having just such a good one.
