America’s Sweetheart, Taylor Swift vs US Renegade, Miley Cyrus
There is no doubt that current global domination belongs to Taylor Swift with her Eras Tour. Shattering records and making the Beatles arrival in the USA look like a puppet show, Swift is the first musician-made billionaire in history. The poetic singer-songwriter from Reading, Pennsylvania creates pandemonium with every concert announced and new musical release. Her influence on pop culture seems unlimited and regardless of one’s opinion of Swift, there is no denying her talent.
Back on home soil, Miley Cyrus, another American pop icon puts the powerhouse in Girl Power. The daughter of earworm wonder hit singer Billy Ray Cyrus, she hit stardom as Disney star Hannah Montana before shattering her fan-adored image of wholesomeness with the debut of her 2013 album, Bangerz.
Comparatively, Swift, 34, and Cyrus, 31, are of the same generation. Both are crossover artists, moving from Country to Pop. Cyrus has the lead on-screen with her acting in TV and movies, but Swift has made several appearances on shows like SNL.
