Music, like Art or writing, reaches out across all spectrums touching us in unique and specific ways. And when you lean back in your chair and close your eyes or gaze aimlessly out the window with the beat and harmony filling the space inside your head, all the static disappears.
It’s just the music and you.
For those brief minutes, the problems of the world vanish. A good song can elevate me above the earth and leave me hovering someplace perfect.
It’s the same when I’m standing hip-deep in a mountain river. A fly rod cocked in my right hand, the line whispering through the air on its way to unfurl atop the rolling crystal clear water. A trout rushing from its hold on the riverbed crashes through taking the bait. The tension in the hook whips the reel into a crescendo.
It is a fleeting opus of brilliance and perfection.
Whether it’s an orchestra or a rock band, a solo artist and an acoustic guitar or a piano and a voice, music can resonate with us on a deep and lasting frequency.
