Shed a Little Light — Rate-a-Record Combo Challenge

Plentiful positive things are happening in my life right now and they are keeping me very busy! Work has offered a second promotion within six months, with a much more significant role and responsibility, a less reasonable risk-reward ratio (for me), and a minor pay bump. I’m days away from completing my upgrade (training seems too specific a word for the situation) and feel comfortable putting more on my plate.

Consequently, my writing and reading output has waned, and I am mostly keeping up with my editing contributions to several pubs. I have focused almost exclusively on fiction writing; first, thanks in part to fellow Plethora of Pop and Rate-a-Record pursuant, Paul Combs mild shove, I continue pushing a short story well into the novella range. However, I must soon decide whether I am in the middle of the plotline or nearer the end. I may see the project reach a novel-length if it’s the former.

I am also submitting work for Fellowship, Scholarship, and Grant applications because it is like my wife and daughter explain to people when they ask what I do, “Well, he has a regular job, but he’s a writer.”
