Ugh. I feel your pain. First, from us losing our car in the fall and now to me refusing to ship my truck to the mechanic. I have still to chisel, yes, chisel, the rear fuel filter cap loose from its housing to verify my suspicion that the fuel system is air locked. Then I still have to extract the stripped nut to remove the block plug so I can flush the engine coolant.
If those don't get the old diesel chugging, then I will have to remove everything on top of the engine, open the header and dump kerosene down the rods, put things back together and see if it fires.
I don't have a garage and today was -17c.
If all that fails, or I fail to accomplish the procedures, it's to the mechanic where nothing about a diesel engine is less than 2 grand.
Do I have 2 grand? No. I do not.
Enjoy the walk and I will pray a vehicle comes your way.
