Well, there is an equal argument of extremism on the Democrats side as well. Like the Communist occupiers of Eastern Bloc countries, Americans were afraid, no worse than afraid, crucified for speaking against the doctrines presented by the left and pushed by the media. You could not voice a conflicting opinion in public on any topic the left deemed righteous.
Look at the lunacy of allowing Americans supporting Palestine to deface and destroy American monuments and institutions without any consequence, and in fact, heralded and supported by the Left and the media. It's lunacy. All of it a thin and ugly mask to hate Jews.
Like you, a foreigner to American life, I have no interest in defending Trump but I daresay that the corruption and crimes committed by Biden, his son, and scads of politicians alongside them meet the same criminal character, morally-lacking criteria as the convicted Trump.
It's an interesting scene to watch unfold, and I sure wish Musk hadn't made that salute--at no angle was that okay.
The difference, in my view of Trump and past presidents is that you know what you've got in Trump, part buffoon, part entertainer, part tyrant--he's out in the open. It's those others, hiding their evil ways that ought to give pause.
But, I will agree that Trump is the bull in a china shop.
