Wow. That tops the doozy list of doozy conundrums! Lisa, I don't know what I would have done. If I shift characters around and make your birth mom someone more immediately close, then it's almost an easy yes. My wife? Yes. My kid? Yes. My distant cousin living across the world? Probably not.

Tough questions to ask yourself and what a predicament AND the lingering (possible guilt) after her death!

I don't know. God gave us two kidneys and I'm comfortable saying he had a good reason and perhaps doctors haven't figured that out yet.

I also think God saw the path ahead of you and knew you'd need every molecule of body and soul strength to do what you do and be who you are.

I think you were fine to keep your kidneys.
