Your story is an interesting one.

I wonder if you ever observed long-married couples and how intimacy moves within a relationship?

Sex and physical intimacy wane and are replaced with these small acts of consideration, thinking of the other before yourself, deliberately moving to provide small pleasures. All of it is love.

It makes me wonder what this "emotional void" was, or whom it belonged to, as it seems you two have gravitated to relationship in the normal routines of marriage.

In other words--the place you are in now is actually what constitutes a good marriage, caring for the other first, or at least with kindness leading the way.
